Digital Dream Labs to Ship Vector 2.0 Robots Internationally

October 4, 2022
Pittsburgh-based Digital Dream Labs has announced that its Vector 2.0 robot, a tracked digital companion consumer robot, is now shipping globally to 65 countries. Despite several supply chain difficulties, the company said it has kept its promise to start shipping Vector 2.0, after passing regional certifications. U.S. and Canadian pre-orders are now shipping, with U.K. and European distribution begun, with remaining regions to follow.
Digital Dream Labs took over the licenses of Cozmo, Vector and other systems from Anki, the original developer of the consumer robots. The new Vector includes AI-powered robotics and cloud-connected features, which allows it to map a room, avoid obstacles, recognize up to 20 faces, set a timer, take pictures, and perform other tasks.
While Vector 2.0 may look the same as its previous generation, it has a 30% longer battery life and an improved, 2 megapixel camera resolution to increase its facial recognition and accuracy. The company said this will give the robot the ability to do things like recognize pets and know if an end user is smiling.
“It hasn’t been easy, but Vector 2.0 is a persistent little guy, and we’re glad to have him meet the world,” said Jacob Hanchar, CEO of Digital Dream Labs. “Vector 2.0 is the perfect AI companion, and ready to make new friends of all ages.”
