New Report Available on Disinfection Robots Market

Robotics Data, a strategic partner of Robotics World, has announced its latest market report, “Disinfection Robots: Sanitizing the World, One Room at a Time.” The exclusive report provides details on more than 60 companies worldwide creating UVC-based disinfection robots, both semi-autonomous and autonomous. Arizton Research recently predicted that the disinfection robots market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of more than 30.69% during the period 2020 through 2026. The research firm said healthcare facilities account for the highest deployment approach, with a 32.16% CAGR through the forecast period. 

RD Report Disinfection CoverWhile additional companies are making UVC-based products to help with disinfection, the companies covered in the Robotics Data report focus on semi-autonomous (where users can remotely control the robot from another room), or fully autonomous robots. Many earlier systems have the capability of disinfecting a room, but these are manual or hand-towed systems that get wheeled into a room. With more rooms requiring disinfection beyond the healthcare space, such as schools, public buildings, offices, shopping centers, and restaurants, to name a few, the demand for more autonomous systems is likely to grow, Robotics Data said.

UVC robots were originally developed as a way for hospitals to fight hospital-acquired infections (HAI), but with the COVID-19 pandemic over the past year and a half, demand for these systems has skyrocketed. Even with vaccines being distributed globally, the research firm said companies and organizations will still likely continue to show interest in quick and safe disinfection processes.
