Monopoly-based Theme Park Deploys RoboButler to Interact with Visitors

Monopoly Dreams Hong Kong and Novelte Robotics have announced a collaboration that aims to pamper visitors with an interactive Information and tour-guide service using a mobile robot called “RoboButler” (GB1). As the Monopoly Dreams’ frontline ambassador, GB1 can work during opening hours every day, providing visitors with friendly services at various attraction sites inside the theme park.
Receptionists and tour guides also stand by to help and escort visitors. GB1 is configured with a 14-inch 1,920 by 1,080 pixel touchscreen interface. GB1’s 1-meter tall robot trunk can climb slopes of up to 7 degrees. With six loudspeakers located at different parts of the body, the robot’s friendly greetings are easily heard at the theme park, Novelte Robotics said.
The robot is powered by a 10.4 Ah lithium battery that provides extended operating service. In addition to enhancing the fun and services provided to theme park visitors at Monopoly Dreams, RoboButler will help reduce labor costs and improve the operational efficiency of the facility, the company said. Repetitive routine duties in the workload of staff will be relieved, and GB1 can also be programmed to perform remote security patrols at various sites at the facility.
Monopoly Dreams in Hong Kong, a new tourist attraction, is reportedly the first Monopoly-based theme park in the world.
