ROEQ Doubles Payload of AMR with New Cart Modules

February 23, 2022
Denmark’s ROEQ has announced a new top module that doubles the payload for users of Mobile Industrial Robot’s (MiR) autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). THe new TMS-C500 Ext and S-Cart500 Ext module/cart combination enables the robot to carry up to 500kg (1,102 lbs) of materials.
The design of the TMS-C500 Ext also allows companies to include larger cargo with up to 1.2 meters (47.2 inches) in length without compromising safety, as the emergency stop button is easily accessible. In addition, increased tilt stability is provided by a longer wheelbase of the S-Cart500 Ext.
“We are unaware of any other cart solutions in the market enabling this level of payload increase with the same maneuverability,” said Michael Ejstrup Hansen, managing director of ROEQ. “This is the ideal solution for businesses looking for a safe and cost-effective AMR solution,” especially for companies looking to autonomously transport heavier goods in narrow and space-constrained areas.
The ROEQ cart solution picks up and drops off the ROEQ S-Cart in free space, which means no affixed floor space or docking stations are needed for pickups, giving businesses more flexibility in their AMR usage, making them more efficient where robots are never left idling.
ROEQ said its standardized equipment is not just compatible with MiR AMRs, but also supports AMR deployments that are fully compliant with applicable safety regulations. “We bring standard off-the-shelf robotic equipment to market that is well tested,” said Hansen. “We’ve put our knowledge of designing cart systems for AMRs into this new solution, raising the bar for what cart systems can handle while leveraging the full potential of the powerful MiR250 robot.”
As with other ROEQ top modules, the new TMS-C500 Ext comes with ROEQ Assist software, which loads pre-coded missions into the MiR robot, which can then be modified in the MiR interface. This results in quick and consistent application deployments for AMR setups throughout the facility, ROEQ said.
The new models is the latest offering from ROEQ, which also includes the recently released TMS-C1500 and S-Cart1500W top module and cart, which allows payloads of up to 1,500 kg (3,307 lbs). The company said it will be displaying the new modules at the upcoming MODEX trade show in Atlanta.
