RAD Receives First Order of ROAMEO Security Robot

Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions (AITX) has announced that its subsidiary, Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD) has received an order from one of its dealers for the ROAMEO 2.0 security robot, with a commitment of up to 20 units from a prior letter of intent. The first units will be deployed with a major Hollywood studio, the company said.

ROAMEO (Rugged Observation Assistance Mobile Electronic Officer) was unveiled to the public at the recent NCS4 Conference in Phoenix, to an audience of spectator sport security executives. The company said due to overwhelming reception, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers also requested an appearance of ROAMEO at the same event.

ROAMEO is a mobile security robot that is nearly 7 feet tall, weighing more than 700 pounds. It is an autonomous, AI-driven solution that can patrol a property or periphery, surveying its surroundings, conducting routine patrols, recording video, and reporting back to a central command center.

“ROAMEO, being the first mobile device that is part of the RAD system of devices, is on track for many amazing deployments,” said Steve Reinharz, CEO of AITX and RAD. “Receiving this order during the first week of ROAMEO 2.0’s public tour was great. We expect to regularly announce more ROAMEO orders as we convert letters of intent to firm orders, and inevitably close more deals with other prestigious clients.”

RAD delivers robotics and AI-based solutions aimed to give organizations new insights, solve complex security challenges, and fuel new business ideas at reduced costs. RAD said it developed its security robot technology from the ground up, including circuit board design and base code development. Other systems include SCOT, ROSA, Wally, Wally HSO, and AVA.
