Image Developing Systems GmbH (IDS) has launched an industrial camera with autofocus that “is just as easy to operate as a webcam.” The new uEye XC is specially designed for industrial requirements in applications such as kiosk systems, logistics, medical systems and robotics.
The 13-megapixel camera features USB3 connections, which only requires a cable connection for setup and commissioning, IDS said. The integrated autofocus module allows the camera to easily manage changing object distances.
The uEye XC camera is designed with a lightweight magnesium housing, and measures 32 by 61 by 19 mm. It also has a screwable USB Micro B connection, which lets it integrate into existing image process systems. The 13MP onsemi sensor delivers 20 frames per second at full resolution, ensuring high image quality in changing light conditions due to its Back Side Illumination (BSI) pixel technology. Other functions include 24x digital zoom, auto white balance and color correction. The system also is supported by IDS’s peak software development kit, which lets users configure the camera specifically for their application.
A quick-change macro attachment lens lets users easily shorten the minimum object distance of the camera, which makes it suitable for close-up applications, such as diagnostics, IDS added.
