UBTECH Joins Cleaning Robot Market with ADIBOT

As part of its offerings at this week’s CES virtual conference, China-based UBTECH announced a new UV-C disinfection robot, known as ADIBOT. The company also announced a new modular approach to autonomous mobile robots, with its Intelligent Logistics Robotic System.

The ADIBOT robotic disinfection system helps businesses and schools with their COVID-19 cleaning processes, by combining robotics and AI with UV-C technology that disinfects targeted surfaces and air by deactivating the DNA and RNA of harmful pathogens. The system is involved in both stationary and autonomous mobiles, featuring 360-degree UV-C light coverage, with disinfection capabilities that UBTECH says disinfects 99.9% of targeted areas.

The company said the robot offers a long-term strategic solution to help protect people from pathogens and viruses. It adds an additional layer of disinfection to populated areas, including gyms and classrooms that may not have strong ventilation access. It can also assist with medical and dental facilities in order to avoid harsh chemicals or human error in cleaning.

UBTECH added that because the robotics and AI foundations were already in place with other systems, it can offer one of the most cost-effective UV-C solutions on the market, being accessible to organizations where these types of robots are not feasible. The company said it is currently working with the Delaware Department of Education to pilot ADIBOT across multiple sites, measuring the cost efficiency, disinfection rates, and maintenance improvements within their establishments.

“This endeavor is using new technology in order to sanitize and disinfect above and beyond the current practices used,” said James Simmons, chief equity officer at the Delaware Department of Education. “This additional technology usage not only helps to further advance safety but goes a long way to provide an additional level of comfort for staff, parents, students and the community at large. Depending on the needs of an organization, UBTECH said pricing can start as low as $15 per day, and the company also has tiered pricing for multiple robot purchases, along with financing and leasing options. More details are available at the UBTECH website.

A MINI 1 transparentThe UBTECH Intelligent Logistics Robotic System offers a unique modular system, letting businesses scale needs from an entry-level model up to and utilizing extension modules that expand functionality for business needs. It said the system will be available later this year.

In a third announcement, UBTECH said a new, updated modular STEM kit system would be offered for its JIMU GO robot line in the education space. UBTECH said it will release three kits in Q4 2021: Robo Speedster Kit, Music Mox Maker, and Mars Rover Kit.
