DOBOT Unveils New SCARA Cobot

March 9, 2022
China’s DOBOT has announced the new M1 Pro, its second-generation SCARA collaborative robot, or cobot. It showed the cobot at this week’s International Robot Exhibition 2022 (iREX 2022) event in Japan.
The M1 Pro is a SCARA collaborative robot with human-machine collaboration and safety features compared to conventional robot arms. The robot is designed for several applications in lightweight industry, communication and consumer electronics, such as pick-and-place, gluing, assembly, higher education and other light industrial tasks.
Features of the DOBOT M1 Pro include:
- Fast performance – the integrated controller and robot arm design enable plug-and-play connections. The cobot’s maximum joint speed can reach 180 degrees, and the cycle time is 0.45 seconds, saving time for users.
- Reliability and safety – the front part of the arm is 40% narrower than a traditional industrial robotic arm, which DOBOT says effectively limits damage to the machine.
- Easy operation – the M1 Pro supports wireless control on different devices with multiple programming options, simplifying the testing and programming process.
- Smart performance – with installation time saved, the M1 Pro can maintain smoothness and guarantee consistent production – for example, in the gluing application.
DOBOT said the M1 Pro will officially go on sale worldwide this month, with distributors able to help customers place orders globally and ship the device on time.
