Diamond Age, a Phoenix-based robotics startup that is automating new home construction, has announced it raised $50 million in a Series A funding round. The company said it will use the funding to continue scaling its robotics platform and execute on its first commercial contract to build homes.

Global shipping and mailing company Pitney Bowes and Ambi Robotics have announced a $23 million deployment expansion of AmbiSort systems for Pitney Bowes e-commerce hubs across the U.S. The AI-powered robot systems will help Pitney Bowes speed its parcel sortation to last-mile delivery providers, while also improving productivity, accuracy and worker safety.
Pony.AI, which develops autonomous driving technologies for cars and trucks, has announced it completed its first close of its Series D financing. While details of the funding were not disclosed, the company said it has a significant valuation uplift from the company’s 2020 C and C+ rounds, and now said the valuation of the company is at $8.5 billion.
Pittsburgh-based Gecko Robotics has announced raising $73 million in a Series C funding round, which will accelerate its mission of protecting critical infrastructure through robotic inspections.
Vancouver-based Sanctuary Cognitive Systems, which is focusing on creating human-like intelligence in general-purpose robots, has announced closing $58.5 million ($75.5 million Canadian) in Series A funding. Using breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, cognition and robotics, the company plans to improve the quality of the work experience, assist humans with difficult or dangerous tasks, and bring new opportunities to those who might be less capable of physical work.

Erthos, a solar energy company that is developing advances for utility-scale solar, has announced raising $17.5 million in Series B financing. The company said it will use the funds to double headcount and support further product development in the areas of robotic cleaning, system analytics, and modeling software.
Academy of Robotics, a U.K.-based autonomous vehicle and robotics company, has announced it launched its pre-series A fundraising, which will be accessible to all individuals. The company said it will provide an opportunity for professional and retail investors to participate in “pioneering autonomous technology that has a proven application in last-mile logistics and to invest in a company which already has a fully licensed, custom-built autonomous vehicle on the roads in the U.K.”

Boston-based RightHand Robotics, which develops autonomous picking systems for order fulfillment, has announced it raised $66 million in a Series C financing round. The company said it plans to use the funding to accelerate product and business development, scale its global presence and partner network, and expand its offices and invest in talent acquisition.
RIOS Intelligent Machines, which develops end-to-end AI-powered robotic workcells for factory automation, has announced it raised $28 million in Series A equity funding and debt financing. The new round of funding, together with a $5 million venture round announced in 2020, raises the total capitalization of RIOS to $33 million.
Kiwibot, which develops sidewalk delivery robots, has announced raising a pre-Series A round of funding of about $7.5 million from five investors. The company also announced a multimillion-dollar contract expansion with food services and facilities management company Sodexo. The company said the contract and funding will enable it to expand its robot fleet, with the goal of having more than 1,200 robots delivering food and packages across 50 U.S. college campuses by the end of 2022.

Hyphen, which develops software and robotics to improve efficiency in commercial kitchens, has announced raising $24 million in a Series A financing round. The company has raised $34.4 million to date, and will use the new funding to build out their factory, expand into new markets, invest in research and development for next-generation products, and deploy with customers in the U.S.

The acquisition aims to continue Wauseon’s goal of creating comprehensive automation solutions to meet the needs of current and future customers, and make its own automation capabilities available in more regions of the country.
Germany-based Micropsi Industries has announced raising $30 million in a Series B funding round. The company develops ready-to-use artificial intelligence systems that can control industrial robots to help automate manufacturing processes that could previously not be automated.

Tokinomo, a startup focusing on interactive in-store brand activation systems, has announced it raised $1.7 million to expand its product line and fuel global expansion. The company is building solutions for consumer goods companies and retailers that engage, advertise and capture data at the point of sale. Its main product is a robotic point-of-sale (POS) display system that promotes products in grocery stores that “results in brand awareness, brand recall, and sales lift.”
