RightHandFunding400x275Boston-based RightHand Robotics, which develops autonomous picking systems for order fulfillment, has announced it raised $66 million in a Series C financing round. The company said it plans to use the funding to accelerate product and business development, scale its global presence and partner network, and expand its offices and invest in talent acquisition.


RIOS Hermes400x275RIOS Intelligent Machines, which develops end-to-end AI-powered robotic workcells for factory automation, has announced it raised $28 million in Series A equity funding and debt financing. The new round of funding, together with a $5 million venture round announced in 2020, raises the total capitalization of RIOS to $33 million.


KiwiBotTeam400x275Kiwibot, which develops sidewalk delivery robots, has announced raising a pre-Series A round of funding of about $7.5 million from five investors. The company also announced a multimillion-dollar contract expansion with food services and facilities management company Sodexo. The company said the contract and funding will enable it to expand its robot fleet, with the goal of having more than 1,200 robots delivering food and packages across 50 U.S. college campuses by the end of 2022.


HyphenMakeline400x275Hyphen, which develops software and robotics to improve efficiency in commercial kitchens, has announced raising $24 million in a Series A financing round. The company has raised $34.4 million to date, and will use the new funding to build out their factory, expand into new markets, invest in research and development for next-generation products, and deploy with customers in the U.S.


Addverb MobilePro 400x275India-based Addverb Technologies, an automation solutions provider for warehouses and factories, has announced its plans to expand into North and South America. The expansion is the result of the company raising $132 million in funding from Reliance Industries.


Waueson400x275Ohio-based Wauseon Machine and Manufacturing, which provides robotics automation, tube fabrication equipment, and build-to-print precisioned machine parts, has announced it acquired McAlister Design and Automation of Greenville, S.C. The acquisition aims to continue Wauseon’s goal of creating comprehensive automation solutions to meet the needs of current and future customers, and make its own automation capabilities available in more regions of the country.


Micropsi MIRAI 400x275Germany-based Micropsi Industries has announced raising $30 million in a Series B funding round. The company develops ready-to-use artificial intelligence systems that can control industrial robots to help automate manufacturing processes that could previously not be automated.


TokinomoRobot400x275Tokinomo, a startup focusing on interactive in-store brand activation systems, has announced it raised $1.7 million to expand its product line and fuel global expansion. The company is building solutions for consumer goods companies and retailers that engage, advertise and capture data at the point of sale. Its main product is a robotic point-of-sale (POS) display system that promotes products in grocery stores that “results in brand awareness, brand recall, and sales lift.”


MORAI LasVegas400x275South Korea’s MORAI, which develops full-stack autonomous vehicle simulation technology, has announced it raised $20 million in Series B funding. The new funding includes investments from Korea Investment Partners, KB Investment, and the state-run Korea Development Bank. Existing investors from Naver’s D2 Startup Factory, Hyundai Motor Group’s ZERO1NE, Kakao Ventures, and Atinum Investment also participated in the round.


MarsMAV 400x275NASA has announced awarding a contract to Lockheed Martin Space of Littleton, Colo., to build the Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV), a small lightweight rocket to launch rock, sediment, and atmospheric samples from the surface of Mars. The space agency said the award brings it closer to the first robotic round trip to bring samples safely to Earth through the Mars Sample Return Program.


DiveTech400x275Defense technology company Anduril Industries has acquired Boston-based Dive Technologies, which develops and manufactures subsea robotics. The acquisition was announced by Tanis Venture Management, Mill Town Capital, and Virginia Tech Carilion Innovation Fund & Seed Fund, which had invested in the company.


TinyMobileRobots400x275German industrial group STIHL has announced it acquired 23.8% of Danish robotics company TinyMobileRobots, which uses GPS to autonomously mark lines for sports fields around the world. STIHL said its robotic lawn mowers share a strong technical kinship with the line marking robots produced by TinyMobileRobots, which can be used in other sectors such as road construction and agriculture.


ViamLogo400x275Viam, a robotics startup developing a new robotics platform, has announced raising $30 million in a Series A round. The funding was led by Tiger Global, with participation from returning investors Union Square Ventures and Battery Ventures. The new funding raises Viam’s total financing to $42 million.


Superpedestrian400x275Superpedestrian, which develops transportation robotics through electronic scooters, has announced raising $125 million in debt and equity capital. The new funding will be used to expand its LINK shared e-scooter service, boost research and development, and deploy scooters with its new Pedestrian Defense safety system in 25 cities across the U.S. and Europe during 2022.


VecnaFunding400x275Vecna Robotics, which develops flexible material handling automation technology with software and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), has announced raising $65 million in Series C funding, led by Tiger Global Management. The company said the new financing will help fund its technology roadmap with new AMRs and software, and accelerate fulfillment of new orders and expanded operations to address a $165 billion market opportunity for pallet-moving autonomy.
