Switzerland-based maxon recently published a publication and two-minute video showcasing the company’s 60-year history. The “60 Years of Excellence” package is a colorful story that starts with biographical insights on the company’s founder, and continues with backgrounders on the many key personalities who helped develop the company’s diverse products.
The introduction of the publication is cleverly written to pique one’s curiosity:
“In this 60-page anniversary publication, we focus on the number 60 and celebrate it. Find, a 60-second interview with our CEO Eugen Elmiger or read about the 60 spontaneous decisions made by the Braun family. What will maxon and the world look like in 60 years? And what happens at maxon in 60 minutes?”
Interesting photos of products and the personalities who invented them are combined in a well-done compilation that is a hoot to peruse. A bewildering variety of “firsts” achieved by Maxon are presented with humanity and much good cheer. Who would have imagined that a company producing razor parts (it first produced shearing foils for electric razors) would decades later produce the motors that have powered NASA’s Ingenuity coaxial helicopter Mars robot? By all accounts, maxon has a very human, engaging corporate culture, and you see this in “60 Years of Excellence.”
We highly recommend it!
