Tailos Adds Melonee Wise to Board of Directors

June 21, 2022
Tailos, which is developing autonomous robots for the hospitality and industrial cleaning industries, has announced the election of Melonee Wise to the company’s board of directors. Wise, the founder of Fetch Robotics and current vice president of Automation at Zebra Technologies (which acquired Fetch in 2021), brings decades of experience in robotics development and building innovative companies.
During Wise’s tenure as CEO, Fetch Robotics became a prominent player in the robotics warehouse and logistics industries, and contributed in research and development of emerging robotics technologies. Fetch is a contributor to the Robot Operating System (ROS), a foundational platform robotics development used by a majority of robotics developers.
“Melonee is a visionary and titan in robotics, and her passion for building robotics companies and supporting fellow roboticists on their journeys is unparalleled,” said Michah Green, CEO of Tailos. “She’s been an inspiration for me and many on my team; we’re excited to welcome her to Tailos’ board of directors. I know that her leadership and expertise will help elevate the company to the next level.”
“I’m excited to join the Tailos board and work closely with Micah as Tailos grows and executes his vision for commercial robotics,” said Wise. “Micha and the Tailos team have build a good technology foundation for getting to the next level and scaling rapidly.”
Wise began her career at Willow Garage in 2007 as a senior engineer, gaining experience in robotics development and leadership before starting Fetch in 2014. In addition to being published in industry journals, she has been granted 18 patents in her career. She recently was awarded the Engelberger Award, widely regarded as the most prestigious award in the robotics industry. She holds a dual Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in physics and mechanical engineering, as well as a master’s in mechanical engineering from the same university.
