What is it? Manufacturers need ready access to the right data at the right time to take advantage of rapid progress in cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). These developing areas are at the forefront of Industry 4.0, and are driving the growing need for immediate visualization of manufacturing processes.
Renishaw’s Reporter process monitoring app can be used with a wide range of machine tools and controllers to visualize machine, process and component measurement data in real time. Downloadable data sheets are available for using Reporter with Fanuc, Mazak, Mitsubishi and Siemens controls.
Using Reporter, measurement data can be viewed on the machine tool or exported externally for analysis by using the Data export option. Exported data can be stored as part records for traceability, or imported into the user’s in-house quality analysis software, providing manufacturers with valuable insights into machining processes. The Reporter app is installed onto a Windows-based controller or a Windows tablet connected to the controller via Ethernet. The Data Export option (licensed) permits the user to export measurement data to a CSV file, generate a measurement data report as a PDF, and automatically stream measurement data via MTConnect (requires a MTConnect connection from the machine tool builder).
Key features and benefits:
- Quick view of pass and fail measurement data at the machine;
- Real-time display of measurement trends for every probed part as parts and tools are measured;
- Compatible with a wide range of machine tools and controllers given contact and non-contact tool setting macro software;
- Data export option for collection and sharing of on-machine measurement data;
- Exported data can be stored as part records for traceability;
- Exported data can be imported into the user’s in-house quality analysis software, providing manufacturers with valuable insights into machining processes.
