MEDI SnapConnectors400x275

June 14, 2022

ODU-USA, which supplies connector systems for multiple applications, has launched the ODU MEDI-SNAP size 3.5, an extension of its touch-proof connector series. The connectors are designed for medical, test and measurement, and industrial electronics, but also can work with robot connections and other electronic systems. The MEDI-SNAP connectors are available in the new 3.5 size with hybrid technologies capabilities, as well as high-pole options.

The company said size 3.5 offers special inserts for hybrid solutions, including more signals in combination with power and fluid transmissions. Additional customized solutions include media such as coax or fiber optics, which are available upon request. A signal-only version accommodates 41 contacts, the company added.

Additional features include:

  • Up to 41 signal contacts
  • Signals, power and fluids combined in one interface
  • Solutions for coax and fiber optics available on request
  • Push-pull locking
  • Optional PCB termination for high pole density, enabling easier assembly
  • Patient protection: IEC 60606-1: 2 MOPP, 2 MOOP
  • Several media inserts and pin layout options, due to its modular design
  • Options such as sealed/unsealed straight plugs in combination with sealed/unsealed receptacles for front or rear-panel mounting. The connectors also feature lightweight plastic housing and are autoclavable.

In addition for medical, test and measurement, and industrial electronics applications, the size 3.5 connectors are suitable for robot connections, test equipment, battery balancers, defibrillators, endoscopes, LED devices, entertainment systems and uninterruptible power supplies.
