Axiomtek Launches AI-Powered PC via NVIDIA Jetson Edge Platform

Axiomtek, which develops and manufactures industrial computer products, has announced the AIE900-XNX, its new edge computing system that uses the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX platform. The new system is aimed at vision AI applications including computer vision, vision-guided robotics, autonomous mobile robots, intelligent roadside units, workplace safety, obstacle detection and traffic management, among others.

The system includes a 6-core NVIDIA Carmel ARM v8.2 (64-bit) processor and 384-core NVIDIA Volta architecture GPU, which delivers up to 21 trillions of operations per second (TOPS) to run modern AI workloads. In addition, the platform supports high-speed networking functions, such as a 5G module to drive AIoT innovation.

The AIE900-XNX can also connect to oToBrite’s SerDes cameras to provide navigation capabilities for compute-intensive applications, such as AMRs, obstacle detection, and simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). To help developers execute out-of-band (OOB) management operations remotely, the AIE900-XNX supports optional Allxon swiftDR OOB Enabler, which brings disaster recovery services onto the fanless edge AI appliance using specialized OOB technology.

“Axiomtek’s AIE900-XNX comes with a multi-camera interface, which can justify the respective selection depending on the application area and usage scenario,” said Annie Fu, product manager at Axiomtek. “Moreover, [the system] has an extended operating temperature range of -30-degrees C to +60-degrees C  and 9 to 36 VDC power input with optional ignition power control, making it an ideal solution for use in sedans, buses, and trucks with the high-temperature operation and varying voltage input requirements.”
